Shoutbox Plugin v. 1.0a


This plugin is discountinued. As I have abandoned LifeType, and moved on to WordPress, I am not able to release any update or improvement to this plugin. I hope that someone will take it on from here. If you are interested in mantaining this, and need any help, please drop me a line.

A new shoutbox plugin version is available to download. It is compatible with both LifeType 1.0.x and 1.1.x. It fixes the compatibility with 1.1, and a number of new features:

  • Works with page caching activated
  • Fully integrated into LifeType (no more custom hacks)
  • Email alert contains a link for immediate deletion of the offending shout
  • Shoutbox can be temporarily disabled (when you are on holidays and are not able to moderate it)
  • History browsing: you users can browse all the past messages

Refer to the README.txt contained within the package to learn more and for the instruction to install the package.

Please test it first, and remember to do a full backup of database and data before installing.

Hi,
It is a excellent plugin. But I have a problem. The function of page seperation works well in the blog template while it doesn’t work in the ‘manage’. Could you please give some help?

Oops… it seems like I have forgotten to implement the page separation for the admin side… As soon as I have finished it I will let you know…

Thanks for your prompt answer. By the way, I noticed that all cache will be cleaned when I use page separation in ” shoutbox_history.template”. So if it is possible, can you use the statement of LT1.1’s page separation: {pager style=”links”}?

I need to dig into the matter of paging and LifeType 1.1, but I am _extremely_ busy this period. I wll do my best, anyway. Maybe I’ll have some time to spare next week.
